Are you an environmental innovator keen to play a role in shaping nature recovery in our countryside, reversing biodiversity loss and mitigating climate change? This role will play a key part in meeting these aims through the development of natural solutions based projects and the development of a regional approach to the sale and purchase of Natural Capital.
This role will help shape the way West Berkshire manages and deals with the emerging Natural Capital agenda. You will be working with conservation agencies, landowners and communities to strategically set the agenda and pioneer a regional approach to the use of natural solutions, habitat creation and changes to farming practice.
BioCap, is seeking to employ and train a project officer who will be part of the team leading this work across West Berkshire. BioCap is a company Limited by guarantee and a registered charity.
BioCap helped to set up the West Berkshire Natural Solutions Partnership (NSP) to look at the establishment of a local market in Natural Capital and has been awarded an NEIRF3 contract to work with Finance Earth and landowner partners to develop projects and explore potential sales of Natural Capital to corporate purchasers. BioCap is also on the UK Nature Accelerator and is a partner in a European Space Agency project looking at the measurement of Biodiversity. You will be helping with the delivery of these contracts and the development of habitat creation projects.
The role will be part or full time, for a 1 year contract, with the intent of securing further income streams to extend the contract. The salary will be £28,000 per annum on a pro rata basis.
