HalpinRobbins are seeking to recruit a full-time Senior Environmental Consultant to join our friendly team based on the Devon/Somerset border. We provide ecological and environmental consultancy services nationwide including environmental impact assessments, environmental permitting and much more.

HalpinRobbins is an ecological and environmental consultancy providing pragmatic and professional advice for development and conservation projects in both the public and private sector. Based close to the Devon/Somerset border, we extend our services across England and Wales. Providing environmental and ecological work to individuals, companies and government organisations for development and conservation.

The role

  • Coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Permits and Nutrient Neutrality works 
  • Leading technical and other work as required ensuring high levels of safety, quality and environmental responsibility. 
  • Quality Assurance of own and team’s work in accordance with good practice, relevant standards, Codes of Practice and Health & Safety legislation 
  • Ensuring deliverables meet the client’s needs and are provided cost effectively and to an exemplary standard. 
  • Engage in business development, client and third-party liaison successfully leading to enhanced reputation, new and repeat work. 
  • Contributing to and preparing bids. 
  • Line management and mentoring of individuals within the team. 
  • Assist with the promotion of the capabilities of the company to current and prospective clients. 
  • Undertaking Environmental Clerk of Works (EnCoW) roles.
  • Opportunities to assist with the Ecology Consultancy department including protective species works.
  • 37.5hrs per week


  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Previous report writing/ preparation experience. 
  • Previous team management experience. 
  • Previous business development experience.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Relevant Professional membership, such as CIEEM or CIWM or be eligible for membership.


  • Relevant Environmental degree.
  • Previous experience within an environmental consultancy.
