Community Partnership

The Community Partnership, a charitable company, was established in 2004, by the National Park Authority, through the award-winning Community Futures Programme, to support communities as they embarked on their first community action plans.

Our vision is that our National Park communities will be built by:

  • sustainable and inclusive communities able to be pro-active partners in their own social, economic, environmental and cultural development with strong community councils, community development trusts and community groups working in tandem with each other, creating opportunities for local participation and new community leadership for their communities mutual benefit;
  • communities working together to develop a strong connected network within and among the four areas of the National Park; and
  • communities that take an active part in the development of strategies, policies and programmes that affect the quality of life for the residents of National Park and also embrace the special qualities and aims of the National Park.
