Course: Discovering the Biodiversity Metric - Online

This self-led online course is designed to give learners an overview of the fundamentals that underpin the biodiversity metric and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG.) On completion, learners will understand key metric terminology and have an awareness of the integral elements to performing BNG calculations including UKHab surveys and condition assessments for which a woodland habitat context will be used.

This course will require approximately 3 hours of your time. You will have access to the course materials for 2 weeks.

What will be covered during this course?

This is a 3-hour self-led online course covering 3 topics. Each topic will contain a number of self-led resources to work through at your own pace. The topics covered include:

  • An introduction to biodiversity and terminology;
  • The Metric process and Condition Assessments; 
  • An overview of Biodiversity Net Gain.
