We cover a range of topics from invertebrate identification to wildlife survey techniques amd we're also teaming up with other organisations to help promote their work and projects you can get involved with.

Making a Buzz for the Coast – Conserving the Bumblebees of Kent

In this VMU we’ll be joined by Lauren Kennedy, Outreach and Volunteer Officer for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust’s Making a Buzz for the Coast project, along with by Bex Cartwright and Kate Fidczuk-Sterry, both Conservation Officers for the project. The Making a Buzz for the Coast team work from Dartford to Deal, North Kent, providing habitat advice to create and restore habitat for bumblebees. As well as providing training in bumblebee identification and biological recording. The talk will look at the work being carried out by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust project, Making a Buzz for the Coast. Exploring why Kent is such an important county for bumblebees. Looking at where we find some of the UK’s rarest bumblebee species and how to get started with bumblebee identification. As well as what we can all do to help through gardening and bumblebee recording!
