Social and therapeutic horticulture is the process of using plants and gardens to improve physical and mental health, as well as communication and thinking skills. This one day course introduces the key skills set for Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) Practice and will consider the fundamental practice approach and role of the practitioner within different practice settings. You will explore different garden types and look at how the garden can be a source of activity and occupation appropriate to individual development and recovery. The day will enable you to begin to explore how to harness and maximise the potential therapeutic benefits of gardens and gardening.
