A comprehensive practical introduction to the ecology and conservation of Britain's native river mammals - the otter, water vole and water shrew, and their interfaces with naturalised American mink.

Lead by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust's John Field, the course covers riverside survey techniques, how to assess field evidence, threats to species survival and habitat management best practice. Much of the course will be out on the beautiful and accessible River Eye running through GWT's Greystones nature reserve, managed to create ideal habitat for riparian mammals, with resident water voles and regular otter sightings.

Suitable for anyone with a professional or voluntary interest in riparian mammal conservation, and for those who wish to get practical experience of water vole surveying.
