Hedgerows are boundary features of the landscape and their history is usually reflected in their wildlife. Learn about how hedgerows were created – or planted, their trees and flora, and of species that help to indicate their origin. We will look at how to create a hedgerow, even within a small site, how to manage the hedgerow and how to encourage wildlife. Based in Bushy Park.

Course fee includes a copy of the FSC fold out chart: Guide to Hedgerows.

About the Tutor:

Leslie has studied and managed a hedgerow landscape including the restoration and/or planting of several kilometers of hedgerow. Leslie is the Butterfly recorder for London Natural History Society and is currently working on a project to map the distribution of butterfly species in London, updating 'The Butterflies of the London Area'.
