Description   Are you bamboozled by which tree is which? This course will open your eyes and give you much more confidence so that you know which tree you are looking at. We will be looking at leaves, twigs, buds, bark and tree form to come up with the correct species (most of the time!) We will also look at a few evergreens, including common conifers, too.

Experience Level - No experience required.

Instructor’s Details – Donald McPhillimy - I started my forestry career building log cabins on the west coast of Argyll and have since then worked for a forestry estate, New Zealand Forest Service, Scottish Woodlands, New Caledonian Woodlands and mainly for myself. I like all kinds of forests & woods even Sitka spruce plantations. I especially like pruning, coppicing, making campfires and cooking sausages.

What to bring with you – Packed lunch, warm outdoor clothing and good boots. A small notebook. Working gloves.
