This two day course will provide an introduction to surveying buildings and trees for roosting bats. The course will include theory sessions covering legislation, bat ecology and survey techniques. Additionally the course will include practical field session where we will visit a number of known roost sites for various species to survey for bats. You will learn how to find and identify evidence of bats and how to use equipment such as endoscopes effectively to find bats. 

You will need to be physically fit as we will be walking through woodland. Please bring appropriate footwear, warm clothes, hand torch and head torch and lunch. If you have your own endoscope, please bring with you.

This course is suitable for early career ecologists, graduates and anyone looking to learn more about bats.
