Are you passionate about the future of woods and trees? Do you want to make a difference to the native woodlands in the UK? Do you enjoy talking to people? If so, the Woodland Trust is the place for you.

Our Membership Development Officers work hard to engage with thousands of new supporters each year, increasing our fundraising income and enabling us to do what we do best; protect, create and restore the UK's native woodland.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Our fundraisers are present at our woodland sites and other events positively promoting the Woodland Trust and informing the public about the wonderful things we do. It's not all about numbers, the team genuinely love the natural world and inspire people to support our cause without them feeling pressured.

There's nothing standard about the work either, each day is different. You could be working on your own or as part of a team, outside or inside. The working week is varied and includes weekends, bank holidays and unsociable hours, but it's worthwhile.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role you'll need:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with people.
  • Some experience working in a fundraising or sales driven environment
  • Environmental awareness with a passion for woods and trees.
  • Resilience and be able to work to targets.
  • To be engaging and able to effectively persuade people to support the Trust.

Starting out on a 12 month contract, we'll guarantee you a minimum of 22.5 hours per week, but if you're eager for more we'll work with you to ensure your hours are increased as much as you want them to be.

IN RETURN

You'll be part of a fantastic team dedicated to supporting our work to protect woods and trees.

We recognise and value our people. You'll have our full support, training and opportunities for professional development, along with a 6% contributory pension, life assurance and good holiday entitlement.

We will be conducting a rolling programme of recruitment and reserve the right to close this vacancy early, therefore we recommend you apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
