Sound like you? Check out the job description below!

Who we are

SHRUB – Edinburgh’s Creative Swap & Reuse Hub – is an exciting grassroots project currently funded by the Climate Challenge Fund (CCF), which aims to build a world without waste. Based out of the SHRUB Co-op in Edinburgh, this social hub provides inspiration for a low-carbon lifestyle and support skill sharing through a variety of projects. These include our Swap Shop, upcycling, reuse and skill share workshops, free supported DIY bike repair through the Wee Spoke Hub and our Food Sharing Edinburgh project which saved the equivalent of 64,000 meals worth of food from going to landfill last year.

The Co-op is organised non-hierarchically and strives to provide an inclusive and empowering experience for all volunteers, staff and co-op members that make up our community.

About the job

We are currently seeking a new part - time Project Coordinator (21hrs a week). This will be part of a job share where you will have shared project coordinator duties and then you will focus on coordinating the Swap Shop while your job share partner will focus on coordinating events & workshops. The Swap Shop is a space for the Edinburgh community to swap the material goods that we need to live in our society. Instead of contributing to over-production and systemic environmental degradation, we aim to create a community of swappers to meet each others needs sustainably with as little an impact on the planet and our wallets as we can!

Alongside the respective remit outlined in the Job Description below, a key part of the Project Coordinator role is to ensure that the co-op members who volunteer across the SHRUB organisation are well inducted in the principles of co-operative working, supported, feel valued and are able to contribute to decision-making.
