We are seeking an exceptional and experienced Senior Campaigner in our Land team to contribute to our international work on land, including driving our Cambodia campaign.

About us:

Our vision is simple: we want a better world - where corruption is challenged and accountability prevails, all can thrive within the planet’s boundaries, and governments act in the public interest.

At Global Witness we investigate and campaign to stop human rights and environmental abuses caused by corruption and the exploitation of natural resources.

We’re looking for a senior campaigner to join our Land team which is part of our Forests, Land and Climate strand.

About the role:

You’ll play an important part in researching and investigating the impact of large land concessions on rural communities and the environment in the Mekong region with an emphasis on Cambodia. You’ll campaign for stronger rules to protect human rights and further damage to the environment at national and international levels.

You’ll spot opportunities for action and decide on the best activities and tactics to create change. You'll also draft, review and advise on campaign strategies and materials. At every stage you'll collaborate with others in and outside the organisation, to make sure the campaign gets results.

About you:

Naturally you’ll have knowledge of human rights, governance and environmental issues, particularly relating to land rights and you’ll bring experience of developing campaigns at a national and international level.

You’ll be able to present persuasive arguments to important advocacy contacts and promote our work through a variety of channels. But more than that, you'll have the interpersonal skills and tact needed to bring together the diverse perspectives of a broad range of people (civil society, government, business and other NGO’s) to collectively achieve change.
