Education Rangers - Hampstead Heath Open Spaces Department

Employment is on an “as and when required” basis at a rate of £13.50 per hour.

The Hampstead Heath Education Centre is seeking enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable educators to join their dedicated team to deliver high quality, outdoor, curriculum linked school sessions on Hampstead Heath and in Golders Hill Park.

We are looking for creative educators who can engage children with the unique character of the Heath through their passion for the natural world. As an Education Ranger, you will be part of a team who aim to inspire children to discover and explore the outdoors with confidence. You will need to be an effective and positive communicator with experience leading groups and education sessions, preferably in the environmental sector. You will have knowledge of current health and safety, and child protection legislation as well as insight into current educational practices, standards and innovations. You should possess a demonstrable interest in the environment and conservation issues.

You should possess a degree or equivalent in science, geography, history, or education or have the equivalent experience.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process the successful applicant will be required to obtain an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
